I’m Jaime Tan, and I’m a wellness educator who works with driven, high achievers who have big dreams for their life and careers, but need a helping hand with taking care of themselves.

I’m also the Head of Production at On, one of the world’s leading performance sportswear brands. Before this, I headed up production at Wieden+Kennedy, Amsterdam - recognized as a top global creative agency. Straddling both the wellness and creative industries, I totally understand what living a full-on life is all about.

I know about those late-nights revising that pitch deck, dealing with last-minute client revisions the night before a big shoot, managing celebrity talent and pro-athlete demands… while in a foreign country, in a different timezone… and every single healthy ritual you’re used to now goes out the window.

Over the years, I’ve combined all my health and wellness training into my lived experience… by changing the way I was eating and living, I’m now better able to pivot all my personal rituals around my ever-changing work schedules so they help support my wellbeing.

I know what it’s like to be pushed to the brink of a burnout. I also know what it’s like to not have a clue when it comes to taking that first step to making a change.

What breaks my heart most about doing this work? Seeing people who feel the needle pointing to red on the stress-meter and know they need to make a change… but are too exhausted and feel like they have no time, energy nor knowledge of where to begin.

It breaks my heart because it’s not true. You have exactly what it takes to stress less, yet accomplish more in your life. And I can show you how.

I pursued these passion projects while working a full-time job in a pretty hectic industry at one of the best ad agencies in the world. I embody “TRYING TO FIND BALANCE!” (all caps) while being an overachieving Type-A personality (I clearly don’t always get it right either). ;)

BACKGROUND:

  • Born and raised in Singapore.

  • Currently living in Amsterdam.

  • Other cities lived in: Boston, USA. Cape Town, South Africa. Sydney, Australia.

MY YOGA STORY: I began practising Ashtanga vinyasa yoga in the traditional Mysore method more than 20 years ago now. I made the pilgrimage to practice in Mysore, India with Sharath in 2011. Having lived around the world, I have practiced regularly with these teachers: Eileen Hall, James Figueira, Denise Chew, Claudia Pradella, Eva Ugolini and Govinda Kai. I regularly trained with Paul Dallaghan in Ashtanga and Pranayama in the Kaivalyadham tradition with him and his teacher, Sri O.P. Tiwari.

As a yoga teacher, I got my basic RYT-200 hour certification in 2008 and advanced RYT-500 hour certification in 2015. I taught a weekly lunchtime class at Wieden + Kennedy Amsterdam (my advertising day job) and have also assisted Claudia Pradella, Eva Ugolini and Govinda Kai with adjustments in the Mysore room at Delight Yoga in Amsterdam.

I currently teach vinyasa and yin yoga at Equal Yoga, and am exploring the more meditative aspects of yoga these days, having completed the iRest® Yoga Nidra Meditation Level 1 teacher training in 2018, Level 2 in 2019 with James Reeves in the UK, and was fully certified in 2023. For yin yoga, I am currently training with Sarah Powers at Level 3; and have done 50 hours with Bernie Clark and Diana Batts.

MY NUTRITION STORY: Through experimenting with my own diet and lifestyle and living through its positive effects, my fascination with using food as medicine led me to study Nutritional Therapy at the College of Naturopathic Medicine in London where I qualified as a Nutritional Therapist in 2016. As I found clients needed more help with behavioural change, I added a health coaching qualification to that, through zest4life in 2017.

MY REIKI STORY: My interest with energy work began after a Reiki session with Katey Roberts, who later trained me in Reiki levels 1, 2, and 3 (Reiki Master) over the course of 3 years up till 2015. As a rational, evidence-based, “I believe in data and science” nerd, I don’t know how this s**t works, but it does. Embrace the woowoo.

As there's no "one size fits all" method, I use a holistic approach with everything I've learnt (and continue learning). My diet and fitness routines have changed over the years and are dependent on what my body needs at that particular point in my life. Do keep an open mind and know that what works for me may not work for you - that’s why it’s important to consult your healthcare practitioner too!
